Long John Silver’s is no more.
The restaurant at 1928 West Sixth had its last day of operations Thursday, according to local management. The restaurant is closed now, with equipment and food being removed through the day.
The decision to close the restaurant puts the jobs of 10 employees in jeopardy. Local management says all staff have been offered positions at the chain’s Topeka restaurants if they are interested.
Lyon County records show the restaurant building was constructed in 1975. The property was sold in July from Rock Fogle Trust to GCH Emporia LLC, according to the Lyon County Register of Deeds Office.
Further details on the closure are pending.
