A Greenwood County man has been arrested after an incident that deputies say involved a noninjury hit-and-run crash.
Sheriff Heath Samuels says Harvey Burris was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving while suspended, leaving the scene of an accident and no proof of insurance.
Samuels says the case developed after deputies were called to 2353 365th Street on Sunday for a report of a building that had been hit by a vehicle. Burris allegedly hit the building and fled the scene.
The department’s online case report says deputies found a pickup destroyed and parked behind a residence Saturday. They arrested Burris shortly after finding the truck.
Formal charges are pending at last word.
