The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office is now on a growing list of law enforcement agencies looking for Ryan Lee Squires.
The Sheriff’s Office says a citizen contacted deputies about a suspicious vehicle at a truck stop on Oct. 19. Deputies responded and arrested one person but Squires got away, stealing a vehicle in the process.
Squires is currently wanted for questioning in Geary County for a possible connection to the thefts of two vehicles. He’s also wanted there for a parole violation.
In addition, Squires is wanted in at least four Colorado counties for warrants, including possession of dangerous drugs and intent to distribute.
Squires is 29 years old. He’s a white male, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, with red hair, blue eyes, a scar above his left eye and a burn scar on his left hand. He also has full sleeve tattoos on both arms.
Squires is considered dangerous and possibly armed, so if you see him, do not approach. Instead, call your local law enforcement agency immediately.
Wabaunsee County, other area counties still grappling with residential and vehicle burglaries
The search for Squires comes as Wabaunsee County, like other area counties, is dealing with an ongoing rash of residential and vehicle burglaries. The Sheriff’s Office says a large group of criminals from Kansas City, Lawrence and Topeka are targeting unlocked possessions, including vehicles, garages, sheds and homes.
Separately, two Topeka men were arrested this week in connection to nearly 30 separate vehicle burglaries in Osage County over the past eight weeks. Trivette Alvarado, 19, and Aaron Griffith, 21, each face over 60 combined counts of vehicle burglary, theft and criminal damage.
If you have information about residential or vehicle burglaries, regardless of where you live, or if you have been victimized, call your local law enforcement agency.
