Investigators from several law enforcement agencies across the state are apparently still searching for a man who allegedly stole at least two vehicles and led a pursuit starting near Emporia earlier this month.
The chase developed on the Kansas Turnpike just south of Emporia during the morning rush Oct. 12. Troopers and local authorities discontinued the chase as it went from the Turnpike to Interstate 35 northbound, citing rain and poor driving conditions.
The suspect allegedly stole a Jeep in Butler County at the start of the incident and then allegedly stole a car in western Osage County after ditching the Jeep. The second car was later found in Douglas County. There have been no further updates since Oct. 12 from law enforcement in Lyon, Osage or Douglas counties.
The suspect is described as a white male about 5 foot 10 inches tall, bald with a goatee or beard. At last word, he was wearing a gray shirt or sweatshirt.
