No jackpot winners were drawn in Friday’s Mega Millions lottery drawing meaning the jackpot is now up to a cool $1.6 billion.
The numbers drawn Friday were: 15, 23, 53, 65, 70 and Mega Ball 7. The next drawing will be on Tuesday and is estimated to tie the largest lottery prize in U.S. history. There has been no winner since July 24 when a group in California raked in $543 million.
Grocery stores and convenience stores have seen a spike in the number of players this week in Emporia and across the country. However the odds aren’t in your favor at more than 302 million to 1. Additionally, the Powerball jackpot Saturday isn’t too shabby either at $470 million.

Could you use a little extra cash? Maybe a lot more?
Some lucky winner could potentially take home the massive Mega Millions jackpot tonight. The pot is now up to an estimated $1 billion. Country Mart store clerk Sandra Simon has been selling tickets left and right, even some pooling their money together for a chance at the jackpot
Simon says it’s typical when lottery drawings climb that more people stop at the customer service desk to purchase a lottery ticket.
The jackpot is one of the largest lottery prizes on record but the odds to win are not great. More than 302 million to 1. Simon says some people have shared some wild ideas for how they’d spend their winnings.
Simon says if she won she’d donate to two of her favorite charities and live comfortably on the rest.
Payouts are as follows. There’s the $970 million annuity option paid over 29 years, or the cash option which would pay an immediate $513 million with about half the winnings going to taxes.
You can purchase a Mega Millions ticket until 9 p.m. The drawing takes place at 10 p.m.
