Sertoma Club members are waiting for Soden’s Grove to dry out before they can start repairing the tracks for the miniature train.
Club member Ron Douglass:
The Cottonwood River flooded parts of Soden’s Grove last week, with the floodwaters covering the track for at least two days. Douglass tells KVOE News there is significant damage to the gravel bed in a couple spots.
After a club meeting Tuesday night, the early damage estimate is anywhere from $3,000 to $6,000.
The club has canceled its Boo in the Zoo run for the David Traylor Zoo’s annual Halloween celebration and its Christmastime run is unlikely.
Other parts of Soden’s Grove fared a lot better with flood damage. The David Traylor Zoo had some fence that was washed out, while the All Veterans Memorial had minimal damage.
