One person was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment after a truck-scooter crash Tuesday evening.
Emporia Police Sgt. D.J. Dragonas says an eastbound truck on West Fifth collided with a northbound scooter at State just before 6:30 pm. The truck driver apparently didn’t see the scooter and broadsided the smaller vehicle.
The scooter driver was hospitalized afterward. Dragonas says the crash happened at slow speeds, so the results could have been much worse.
Names have not been released. Additional details may be divulged Wednesday.
