The Emporia City Commission will have several different items up for consideration when it meets Wednesday morning for a study session.
Habitat for Humanity is requesting the city donate the lot at 714 Cottonwood to their organization to construct another single-family home. The lot had been mentioned in the “Land Rush” sale but hasn’t generated any interest.
Also up for consideration is a relocation of stormwater, water and sewer lines near Peyton Street to support the construction of a new railroad spur line for Bunge North America.
Other items to be discussed include a review of the city’s solid waste management plan, future alcohol policy for White Auditorium and an update of city commission goals. A discussion on potential downtown development also will take place.
Wednesday’s meeting takes place at 10 a.m. in conference room 1AB at White Auditorium. After the meeting, the Emporia City Commission and Lyon County Commission will meet for its quarterly luncheon at noon.
