The Emporia State soccer team defeated Southwest Baptist 1-0 Sunday.
Rachel Marshall scored the lone goal in the 81st minute of play.
The Lady Hornets out shot the Bearcats 8-6 on goal. Goalie Jillian Patton had 8 saves. Coach Brian Sailers Lady Hornets are now 9-2-1 for the season and 4-1 in MIAA play.
They are in 2nd place in the MIAA standings. They play at Central Oklahoma, which is in first place in the MIAA Standings, this Friday.
