A little more than a week into the United Way of the Flint Hills annual fundraising campaign, things are off to a fast start.
The organization on Sept. 25 announced a $555,000 drive goal, with proceeds benefitting over 20 community partners in Lyon County, surrounding counties and Woodson County. Drive chair Vicki Brooks had a campaign update during KVOE’s Newsmaker program Friday morning.
The Small Business Blitz last week raised about $9,000 and the Dine United event saw Do-B’s donating 10 percent of Thursday’s total sales to the campaign as well. Brooks says they’re already looking ahead to the next Dine United event.
In addition, Pizza Ranch will host a Dine United event on Oct. 18 and the Granada Coffee Company will host Dine United on Oct. 25.
