The third-annual Get Your Motor Running Run, Walk or Roll is taking place Saturday.
The annual event is essentially two events in one featuring a 5K and a half-mile fun run for children. All proceeds from Get Your Motor Running benefits the Flint Hills Special Education Cooperative which serves 38 schools across seven districts.
Organizer June Ary says currently there is no specific plan for the proceeds, however, over the years the proceeds have benefited a variety of programs.
The event has a new venue, due to the rain forecast Saturday. It will now take place indoors at Emporia High School. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The 5K will begin at 10 a.m. and the fun run will begin at 11:30.
