Lyon County commissioners had a quick meeting Thursday.
Commissioners received the 2017 tax abstract settlement from Treasurer Sharon Gaede. State law has the county treasurer’s office balancing the tax rolls to demonstrate tax money coming in balances with tax money going out as well as bad debt. There was a total of over $45 million in taxes. Gaede says the report balances, and the unpaid tax or bad debt percentage of 1.5 percent was lower than normal.
Separately, commissioners approved letters of support for grant requests from Hetlinger Developmental Services and LCAT as part of the weekly consent agenda.
County commissioners have a study session at 10:30 am next Wednesday ahead of a joint city-county meeting later in the day. The next action meeting is at 8 am Oct. 11.
