The Kansas City Royals closed out the 2018 season with a 2-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians Sunday. The Royals finished with a 58-104 record.
Whit Merrifield end the season with a 20 game hitting streak and became the first Royal ever to lead the Majors in hits and stolen bases. He finishes with 192 hits and 47 stolen bases.
Merrifield says he is excited for 2019.
The Royals and Manager Ned Yost agreed to a 1 year contract extension before the game Sunday.
There are two games left to be played in the Majors Monday. Milwaukee is at Chicago to play the Cubs for the NL Central division championship.
Colorado is in Los Angeles to play the Dodgers for the NL West division championship.
