The man accused of running from local law enforcement after hiding in a garage near Sacred Heart School a few weeks ago has been bound over for trial in that case — while his bond has been revoked in a separate but related case.
Abel Salinas Ortiz faces a pretrial hearing Nov. 2 on charges of aggravated failure to appear, felony interference of law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine and use of drug paraphernalia after an incident at 118 Sylvan in late August. He allegedly barricaded himself into a garage and then tried unsuccessfully to leave the scene.
Meanwhile, bond for Ortiz has been revoked in a case that authorities say involves a pair of alleged drug sales in October 2017. A jury trial in that case is set to begin Nov. 5. Authorities say officers were looking for Ortiz in connection to the 2017 cases when they arrested him in August.
