Bushong was a busy place Saturday as the town hosted the annual Some Gave All fundraiser.
The event included a car show, auction, balloon release, family games, re-enactors and live music all day — and it generated a big total for the North Lyon County Veterans Memorial. Organizer Dianne Bedner-Smith was grateful for the over $4,000 going to the project.
Bedner-Smith says this will pay for a third of the main remaining piece, the Killed in Action marker. Roughly $9,000 is still needed to finish out the memorial. Meanwhile, the USD 252 Southern Lyon County Honor Flight raised almost $1,000 and donated half that to the veterans memorial. What’s In Outdoors raised over $200 and sent $110 to the memorial. Those subtotals are included in the memorial’s grand total.
