Pavement repair will begin Monday on a well-traveled Emporia thoroughfare.
The City Engineering Office says work on Industrial Road at both ends of the Interstate 35 overpass will start Monday and will no doubt cause some traffic adjustments. Lane closures and shifting of traffic will be required to remove and replace deteriorated panels of concrete pavement. Southbound I-35 traffic exiting at Industrial Road will be required to use a detour as signed. Northbound traffic will still be allowed to use the ramp as usual.
This portion of the road work is anticipated to take two to three weeks, weather permitting. The public is encouraged to use caution when proceeding through this area.
