One person was hurt in a wreck between an Impala and a horse Wednesday night.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck happened on US Highway 75 about eight miles south of Carbondale and a mile east of South Morril Road shortly after 8:30 pm. The driver of the Chevy Impala, 59-year-old Tami Kendall of Melvern, was northbound and approached a group of nearly 10 horses, hitting one.
Kendall was not hurt, but a passenger, 44-year-old Christopher Kendall of Vassar, was hurt. The younger Kendall was taken to KU Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment. His condition has not been released.
Both people in the car were wearing seatbelts when the crash happened.
