Current reports and their historical context were the main order of business Tuesday for the Flint Hills Community Health Center’s Board of Directors.
The Health Center discussed its monthly finances. Hively says August finances were in the black, although not as much as originally planned. Net income was about $28,000, below budget of $107,000. Director Renee Hively says there’s a simple reason for the situation: the Health Center is not fully staffed with providers. However, she says finances are stabilizing with cash on hand up significantly from last fall and the center’s turnaround plan enacted almost a year ago is working.
The quarterly traffic report at the Madison clinic was also a focal point with the facility nearing its one-year anniversary next month.
Hively tells KVOE News traffic increased during the summer, especially with a full-time provider starting in June. Hively anticipates a busy fall as the fall illness season for flu, strep throat and other diseases become more prevalent.
