The Emporia School Board will get an official update on school redesign when it meets Wednesday for its regular action meeting.
Logan Avenue Elementary principal Jessica Griffin and William Allen White Elementary principal Tell Kirk are slated to present brief updates to the board on how the efforts are progressing ahead of their presentations later this year. The process is part of the Kansans Can initiative.
The board also plans to consider network upgrades to Emporia High School and Emporia Middle School. Recruitment and retention data will also be presented along with a consideration of updating board policy.
One executive session is scheduled for the process of evaluating the Superintendent. This follows several rounds of evaluation by the board last spring after the Emporia NEA submitted a letter to the board voicing concerns over Kevin Case’s leadership and communication with teachers. A motion to terminate Case’s contract failed by a 3-4 margin during the board’s March 28 meeting.
Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Mary Herbert Education Center.
