Osage County deputies say they have made progress as they investigate more than two dozen auto burglaries this month.
Sheriff Laurie Dunn says as many as four suspects were identified within two hours after the office posted video stills of alleged burglary attempts Monday. Those names are not being released at this time. Dunn says the Sheriff’s Office won’t release those names until formal charges are filed by the Osage County Attorney’s Office. That may happen within the next week.

Noon Monday: Video stills of Osage County burglary suspects released
Deputies have now released a set of video camera stills from roughly two dozen burglaries in the Carbondale, Overbrook and Scranton areas. The Sheriff’s Office says it has more video footage to review, and it is also waiting for DNA testing and fingerprint information to return from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation as the investigation continues.
Vehicle burglaries were reported earlier this month in all three towns. Initially, burglars reportedly targeted unlocked vehicles, but deputies have said the thieves have now been breaking windows to gain access to belongings inside, including electronics and firearms.
If you have information, call Osage County Crimestoppers at 877-OS-CRIME. Deputies say you may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if your tip leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved.
