Two items will be considered when the Emporia City Commission meets for an action meeting Wednesday evening.
Commissioners plan to award a bid for its 2018 water improvement project for Industrial Park III in southeast Emporia. The project includes installation of a one million gallon composite tank with the water tower funded by an Economic Development Association grant and bond money. The bid being considered totals $3.1 million.
Also to be considered is an amendment to the city rental housing ordinance, requiring landlords to maintain a 68-degree standard heating temperature in rental properties. This would be an increase from the current requirement of 60 degrees.
One executive session is also planned to discuss proprietary information regarding future plans of a local business entity. Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the municipal courtroom at White Auditorium.
