Thankfully, nobody was hurt when a semi crashed and rolled on the Kansas Turnpike southwest of Emporia. However, northbound traffic on the highway was closed for over two hours as a result.
The crash happened at mile marker 103, 24 miles southwest of Emporia, at around 4 pm. Crash details have not been released.
It took until about 6:30 before northbound lanes were fully re-opened to normal traffic flow.

Northbound traffic on the Kansas Turnpike in southern Chase County is currently blocked.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority says a northbound semi crashed and rolled near mile marker 103, six miles northeast of the Matfield Green service exit, about eight miles southwest of the Flint Hills cattle pens exit and 24 miles southwest of the Emporia gate. There is no word on any injuries at this time.
The Turnpike Authority has an optional detour off the highway at El Dorado. It also has its emergency signs alerting drivers north of that gate about the crash.
