A Herington man has died after he was apparently hit by a vehicle in Morris County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 56-year-old Shawn Irons was discovered about 10 miles east of Herington in central Morris County. He was laying in the middle of US Highway 56 when he was found Sunday morning.
The Highway Patrol says Irons was hit between 1:20 and 1:45 am Sunday and the vehicle that hit Irons left the scene. Initially, there was no description of either the vehicle or the driver. However, the Highway Patrol now says there was a car driven by 37-year-old Joshua Williams, also of Herington, that hit Irons. A 12-year-old was a passenger.
