A preliminary hearing is on the docket for Ethan Peterson.
The Emporia man had his first appearance in Lyon County District Court on Monday on charges of distributing methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of Psilocybin and use of drug paraphernalia. He will be back in court Oct. 17 at 9:30 am with Paul Dean appointed as his defense attorney.
Court documents show charges stem from an incident July 16 where a foot chase led to the impounding of a car containing hallucinogenic mushrooms, methamphetamine, marijuana and other drugs. Deputies say items and information allegedly linking Peterson to the vehicle were also found inside.
8:40 am Monday: Ethan Peterson charged with distributing drugs
An Emporia man accused of having meth with intent to distribute as part of a chase from last month has now been charged with a separate but related case.
Ethan Cole Peterson has been charged with distributing methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of Psilocybin and use of drug paraphernalia. He has his first appearance Monday in Lyon County District Court.
Court documents show charges stem from an incident July 16 where a foot chase led to the impounding of a car containing hallucinogenic mushrooms, methamphetamine, marijuana and other drugs. Deputies say items and information allegedly linking Peterson to the vehicle were also found inside.
Peterson, 23, is already charged with several counts dating back to an Aug. 8 arrest following a chase from Emporia to Hartford, and authorities say that arrest was linked to the warrants that developed from the July incident. He’s been charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with law enforcement in that case.
Samantha Scheve, Peterson’s co-defendant in the chase incident, was supposed to have a preliminary hearing Monday on flee and elude and other charges. That has now been delayed to 9 am Oct. 31.
