A one-time Emporia resident is jailed in Reno County for allegedly sending a text message containing a nude photo of his girlfriend without permission.
According to the Hutchinson News, Derek Stevens, 30, is formally charged with breach of privacy. His girlfriend allegedly called police over the weekend, saying she did not give him permission to send the photo to a friend of hers. Stevens, meanwhile, said he didn’t send the photo on purpose and tried to delete it.
Stevens was convicted in July 2009 in Lyon County on counts of contributing to a child’s misconduct and drug sales. He was also convicted in Shawnee County for violating the state Offender Registration Act after a 2006 conviction for indecent liberties with a child. The Hutchinson News says Stevens also has a drug possession charge working through the court system in Harvey County.
