The All Veterans Golf Tournament teed off Saturday morning as a fundraising opportunity for local veterans.
Jesse Solis, the tournament organizer, says the support they receive each year continues to be impressive.
Golfers came out to the Emporia Golf Course to play a scramble style tournament with prizes awarded at various holes. Funds raised go to support the local VFW and American Legion posts. Solis says the reason for the tournament is pretty simple.
Solis says proceeds from the event are usually presented to various local entities in the Emporia area.
The tournament typically raises $1,000 each for the local VFW and American Legion posts in addition to the Hispanic Veterans Memorial and women’s auxiliary. Golfers were awarded prizes on each hole donated by the community.
