The Emporia Municipal Golf Course will host a prelude to the annual All Veteran’s Tribute Week activities.
The annual All Veteran’s Tribute Golf Tournament will be hosted Saturday starting at 9 am. Teams of four will compete in the scramble-style tournament, with organizers currently anticipating over 18 teams participating as of Tuesday.
Event spokesperson Jesse Solis says the major focus of the tournament is serving those who have served our country.
Solis adds the event is so meaningful as it allows us to thank our veterans for giving us so much.
In year’s past, a regular tradition is to have a singing of the national anthem before the tournament gets underway. Solis says this year will be no different.
Registration is still open for anyone wishing to participate. The cost is $65 for a four-person team or $45 if you pay an annual membership fee to the Golf Course. The entry fee covers lunch and trail fees and will provide you with a golf cart. Proceeds will go to benefit American Legion Post 5 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1980.
You may register by contacting Marcus Erkel at the Emporia Golf Course by calling 620-343-5610 or Jesse Solis at 620-342-8753.
