Southeastern Coffey County is now under a flood warning as moderate to heavy rain continues.
The warning continues until 5:30 pm after as much as six inches of rain fell Friday. This follows a flash flood warning for southeast Coffey County earlier in the day after three inches of rain in less than two hours.

11 am Friday: Flash flood warning for southeast Coffey County
Heavy rainfall has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning for the southeastern Coffey County.
Towns including LeRoy and Aliceville are involved until 2:15 pm. LeRoy city staffers confirm they have had to close some streets in town due to high water. Weather Service radar estimates show as much as three inches of rainfall Friday with more likely through the afternoon.
Rain chances continue Friday night, although those will come down significantly so there shouldn’t be any issues with high school football games. Showers could end by early afternoon Saturday.
