The Cleveland Indians out scored the Kansas City Royals 3-1 Wednesday afternoon.
Cleveland scored 2 of their runs after 2 errors committed by the Royals. Ryan O’Hearn tripled to drive in Alex Gordon for the Royals lone run. Brad Keller took the loss after giving up 3 runs, only 1 earned on 10 hits with 5 strikeouts. Cory Kluber was the winning pitcher going 6.2 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits with 10 strikeouts. Royals Manager Ned Yost said both starting pitchers were good.
The Season is over for Royals pitcher Danny Duffy he suffered a shoulder injury in Tuesday nights loss.
Duffy is also the Royals Roberto Clemente Award nominee.
The Royals on Wednesday claimed right-hander Ben Lively off outright waivers from the Phillies, and they announced that he will immediately join the Major League club.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Royals designated left-hander Eric Stout for assignment.
