The Kansas City Royals winning streak came to an end at 6 games Tuesday night, Cleveland out scored the Royals 9-3.
Danny Duffy took the loss after giving up 3 runs on 4 hits before leaving with 2 outs in the first with a shoulder injury. After the game Duffy announced they he is most likely done for the season. Duffy was diagnosed with a left shoulder impingement, the same injury that sent him to the disabled list last month.
Duffy was not the only Royal to suffer an injury last night rookie right fielder Brett Phillips suffered a right shoulder contusion after crashing into the wall trying to snare a double off the bat of Jose Ramirez. Phillips is being listed as day to day.
The Royals and Indians wrap up their 3 game series Wednesday afternoon. Brad Keller will be the starting pitcher for the Royals. Cory Kluber will be the starter for Cleveland. First pitch is set for 12:10p.
Danny Duffy is the Royals nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award. Each Major League team nominates a player for the award that recognizes a player who represents the game through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions.
