Emporia State University has a new emergency manager.
Andrew McHenry takes over those duties from Carrie Boettcher, who has taken a new role on campus. University spokesperson Gwen Larson tells KVOE News McHenry comes well-credentialed for the job.
Larson also says McHenry has a lot of law enforcement and dispatch experience, having served for the Los Alamos Police Department’s dispatch center before working for ASU Police.
Larson stressed McHenry is not the same person who led First Congregational Church for about a decade and went to California about 18 months ago.
Boettcher has degrees in counseling and has taken an instructor position in counselor education. Dr. Jim WIlliams served as interim emergency manager prior to McHenry’s hire.
