Two Emporia businesses had their operations disrupted by faulty air handling units Sunday.
CVS Pharmacy at 1215 Merchant had a power outage develop shortly before 2 pm. Once the power returned, a rooftop air handling unit developed a hot belt that began smoking.
About three hours later, Tractor Supply Company had a similar situation as a rooftop unit began sending smoke into the building after an unspecified electrical issue. The unit was shut down and the business continued operating as normal.
No injuries were reported with either call.
