Lyon County deputies are looking for the person who destroyed some fencing at Highway Department headquarters — by driving through it.
County Engineer Chip Woods on what happened:
Woods says they took out at least two big posts as well. The total damage estimate is close to $600.
Undersheriff John Koelsch says the incident likely happened late Aug. 24 or before sunrise Aug. 25. Early indications are the driver was originally northbound on Prairie when he drove completely through the fence. After making the U-turn in the Highway Department property, the driver then went back to Prairie and continued northbound.
Currently, there are no suspects. Deputies are looking for an SUV or light pickup as the suspect vehicle, possibly a 1990s or early-2000s Ford.
