The Emporia Golf Course is seeking to educate the legacies of fallen service men and women.
For the past week, donations have been pouring in for the newest fundraiser to assist the families of servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The donations have been for a special raffle put on by the Emporia Golf Course to support Folds of Honor, an organization which provides scholarships to children of fallen or injured soldiers.
Emporia Golf Course Manager Marcus Erkel joined KVOE this week and detailed the origin of the organization.
Erkel says he loves working with the foundation as they are one of the most generous foundations putting over 80% of all their funds into scholarships.
Prizes from the raffle include a new Titleist 917 driver, a recliner donated by Guion’s Showcase and an assortment of equipment including hats, gloves, and balls. Tickets may be purchased at the Emporia Golf Course, the prices are $5 for one ticket or $20 for six. The drawing will take place Tuesday on Facebook Live.
