KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Two White City residents are facing federal indictments after allegedly stealing items while employed by the US Postal Service.
The US Attorney’s Office announced charges against Kyle L. Eidson, 32, and Ruth M. Eidson, 27, formerly known as Ruth Moler-Dotter, as part of a news release issued Wednesday. Kyle Eidson is charged with one count of theft, while Ruth Eidson faces three counts.
In a superseding indictment from prior charges, prosecutors say Ruth Eidson stole DVDs from the mail on three separate occasions — Feb. 3, March 3 and March 25, 2016. Kyle Eidson, meanwhile, is accused of taking gift cards and Netflix DVDs from the mail Feb. 11, 2016. All incidents allegedly happened in Wabaunsee County.
The Eidsons face up to five years in federal prison and fines of up to $250,000 on each count.
