The Emporia Girls Golf team finished in 1st place in the season opening Emporia Invitational played at the Emporia Golf Course Tuesday. Council Grove was 2nd and Shawnee Heights 3rd.
Individually Emporia High was led by Veronica Blankley who finished in 3rd place with a 50.
Brynn Riley finished 6th, Drue Davis 7th and Makayla Kusmaul 8t, all 3 finished with a 56. Jenna Fessler finished in 10th place with a 60 and Riley Botkin finished in 11th place with 61.
For Council Grove Hailey Hower finished in 2nd place with a 49 and Hannah Konen finished in 4th place with a 52.
Amira Nasser of Wichita East took medalist honors with a 45.
Next tournament for the Lady Spartans will be Tuesday at Salina.
