It was a tough season opener for the Emporia High volleyball team Monday night.
The Lady Spartans were defeated by Topeka High 25-15 and 25-17.
They were also defeated by Topeka Hayden the number 2 ranked team in 4A 25-18, 25-9.
The Lady Spartans host Wichita North in a duel Tuesday night. Matches begin at 5pm at Emporia High School. The Freshmen, JV and Varsity will all be playing.
