The Emporia High boys soccer team opened their season with a 3-0 win over St. Mary Academy Friday night.
Austin Ulrich scored the first goal of the season for the Spartans.
Alvin Arriola gave the Spartans a 2-0 halftime lead. Wilber Landaverde scored the lone 2nd half goal. Athony Saenz had the shutout in goal. The Spartans go to Junction City Tuesday to open Centennial League play.
