STRONG CITY — Strong City Park will be full of children Saturday afternoon and early evening as the town holds its annual Park-A-Palooza.
Organizer Barb Davis says a lot is planned.
The first Park-A-Palooza in 2015 was a fundraiser for major improvements to the park, which was built with community muscle and the design of Leathers and Associates, who helped Emporia with its community build of the Peter Pan Park playground several years before that. The park was indeed renovated over the following nine months with a treehouse, swings, slides, a so-called “tot lot” and train-related play equipment. Tentative plans for a splash park are still possible with a second round of work, and new shelters are another option.
Activities go from 4-7 pm.
