MAYETTA — An Overbrook man was arrested in Jackson County after a chase ended with the suspect allegedly crashing into a law enforcement vehicle.
The Topeka Capital-Journal says the incident started around 8 pm Thursday on US Highway 75 near the Shawnee-Jackson county line with a report of a reckless driver. A deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as 38-year-old Kristin Michael Downs, eluded law enforcement from several agencies before he was stopped on Prairie Band Potawatomi land near Prairie Band Casino and Resort.
As authorities moved in to get Downs out of his car, Downs allegedly drove into a tribal officer’s car.
