Firefighters responded to a structure fire call in Neosho Rapids early Friday. Thankfully, the situation wasn’t as dire as it could have been.
Hartford-Neosho Rapids and Emporia fire crews were dispatched to 702 Walnut around 6 am. Hartford-Neosho Rapids Fire Chief Craig Andrews says an electrical outlet shorted out inside the home, leading to the call. There was no damage to the house and no injuries to anybody inside.

Emporia and Hartford-Neosho Rapids firefighters are battling a blaze this morning.
Firefighters from Emporia were dispatched to 702 Walnut in Neosho Rapids after a structure fire was reported. Early indications are everybody inside when the fire developed is out at this time, but additional details are currently pending at this time.
