A preliminary hearing has been continued to next month for a woman at the center of an Aug. 3 car chase from Emporia to Hartford.
Samantha Scheve, 23, appeared in front of Judge Doug Jones Wednesday with her attorney. The case was continued to 3 p.m. Sept. 17.
Scheve faces multiple charges including flee and elude from the chase which actually began when an officer noticed a man, later identified as 23-year-old Ethan Peterson, who allegedly had an active warrant, near Emporia’s Avaste Hotel at 2700 West 18th. Peterson allegedly then got into Scheve’s SUV and later got out of the vehicle before Scheve was stopped and later arrested outside Hartford.
Peterson has a separate preliminary hearing set for Aug. 29.
