Emporia city and Lyon County officials are asking for public input as work continues to redesign zoning regulations countywide.
The city and county are continuing their work with The Urban Collaborative, which helped both entities with PlanELC — the city-county’s joint comprehensive plan — in November 2017. This phase of work includes preliminary research and analysis of current zoning regulations. It also includes opportunities for stakeholder interviews through the month of September as well as a four-day public workshop Oct. 29-Nov. 1 to gather ideas and shape both the so-called Regulating Plan and standards for buildings, streets and landscapes. This will lead to an updated draft of zoning regulations by spring 2019 for public review.
