A pretrial conference is slated for Sept. 20 for an Emporia man accused of using a machete during a domestic dispute.
Cory Coburn had a preliminary hearing Monday in Lyon County District Court. He pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated domestic battery, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and criminal threat.
Coburn, 35, was arrested July 24 after allegedly punching a female victim in the chest and pulling a machete on her at their home in east Emporia. Coburn also allegedly threatened to burn the house down and had allegedly made threats against the woman previously. He was arrested at Newman Regional Health afterward.
