Better than 300 motorcyclists powered through Emporia on Sunday.
Members of the American Legion’s Legacy Riders have been riding across the country on their way to the American Legion’s national convention in Minnesota, and among those attending the Emporia stop was local veteran Norm Fields. He says the ride developed as a fundraiser after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
The state ride generated almost $20,000 recently.
Fields served stateside during the Vietnam War. He tells KVOE News he’s glad to help families through this effort, and he was glad to hear the stories of how others got involved during the Emporia stop.
