Emporia School Board members will consider approval of the 2018-19 budget at their meeting Wednesday night.
The total budget authority is slightly over $31.3 million with an estimated mill levy at 53.863 mills. The amount of tax to be levied includes $3.4 million from the general fund, $3.1 million from the local option budget, $1.5 million from capital outlay and $1.7 million from bond and interest as well as $96,000 from adult education.
Also on the agenda Wednesday, the board will consider a memorandum of understanding between USD 253 and Crosswinds to continue their partnership. A memorandum of agreement for concurrent enrollment partnerships between the district and Flint Hills Technical College will also be considered. In addition, the board will consider approval of the facilities committee’s recommendation for a construction manager-at-risk for the district needs assessment.
Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Mary Herbert Education Center.
