Emporia High may have started a new tradition this weekend.
The Student Council organized the school’s first block party, and StuCo member Taylor Thomas was pleased with how things went.
Thomas says the council learned a lot as they organized the block party.
Emporia Police and Fire came to the event, as did several local businesses. A number of Emporia High clubs also participated.
School is about to start at Emporia High and across Emporia Public Schools. Jump Start for students that are either new to the district or their respective building is Tuesday. Class begins Wednesday across the district.
