The Kansas City Royals held on for a 3-1 win over the Chicago White Sox Saturday night.
Alex Gordon hit a solo home run in the 6th inning to tie the game at 1 in the 6th inning.
Lucas Duda scored on a Jorge Bonifacio single to give the Royals a 2-1 lead in the 6th. In the 9th Alcides Escobar singled driving in Jorge Bonifacio for an insurance run. The Royals used 6 pitchers, Brad Keller was the winner going 5 innings giving up the 1 run on 7 hits with 5 strike outs. Wily Peralta earned his 8th save. The Royals and White Sox play again Sunday afternoon with Heath Fillmyer on the mound for the Royals. First pitch is set for 1:10p. Coverage on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM begins at 12:30p.
The Royals made a roster move Saturday. They selected Jake Newberry from Omaha and have optioned Jason Adam to Omaha.
