As the 2018 fall semester is about to begin, Emporia State University welcomed new and returning students.
Move in day for ESU took place Friday morning at the Towers Dorm Complex. Several students both new and old were on hand with the latter lending a hand to new students.
ESU Student Government Vice President Michaela Todd says move-in day allows returning students to show newcomers they care about their experience at ESU.
Along with returning students were representatives of ESU’s athletic program including freshman defensive back for the ESU football team Jaedon Pool. He says lending a helping hand to others is a major component in the philosophy of ESU athletics.
Incoming freshman Jovannah from Topeka says she is adjusting well to the college life, save for one minor detail.
After students completed move-in, they were then in the hands of their RA’s or resident advisors. RA Torin Horvik says having people in the same situation helps create a sense of calm amongst new students.
Classes for ESU officially begin Monday.
