LCAT is changing its logo.
Interim Department of Aging Director Mike Halleran says the now-familiar green imagery featuring a mountain lion is disappearing soon in favor of a black-and-blue color scheme and a stylized paw print as part of the C. This follows the original cheetah logo in 2004 and the switch to the mountain lion in 2012.
The logo was designed in-house, Halleran says, with input from LCAT staff, other county employees, Lyon County commissioners, LCAT passengers and Lyon County residents.
Halleran says public transportation systems struggle with awareness, and in Lyon County’s case the general perception is LCAT is for senior citizens or people with disabilities when it is for everybody. The new logo will appear immediately on LCAT advertising and written materials. Buses and bus stops will have the new logo installed soon.
